Caron Simply Soft is an excellent, inexpensive yarn for garments and accessories. It has wonderful drape and a shine that adds interest.
Using a lighter main color and a darker accent color is going to give the illusion of vertical stripes. Choosing a dark main color and a lighter accent color is going to appear as a series of vertical dashes. Either way it makes a great-looking, great-fitting slouch hat that people are sure to beg you to make them one, too!
